The Stafford Sri Lankan School Doha (SLSD) will organise at its premises an exhibition and fair under the theme, ‘Learning and Life in Fusion’ on April 27 from 3pm-10pm.The event, which is being held to promote students’ artistic talents as well as to encourage them to hone their creative talents as ‘thinkers’ of the next generation, will showcase project models, presentations, acts and even the aesthetic talents of Staffordians.The exhibition and fair which is open to the public, especially students from other schools across the country, will also feature stalls by several prominent companies in Qatar. The school also recently held a celebration event to mark the beginning of the Sinhala and Tamil new year. Lankans hold new year events to celebrate the harvesting season of agricultural crops. The chief guest at the event was the Sri Lankan ambassador to Qatar Jayantha Palipane.During the event, also attended by SLSD chairman Kumudu Fonseka and his wife, as well as the school principal Ayesha Rahuman, many games and entertaining events including tricycle race, three-legged race, tug-of-war, musical hats and pillow fight, were held for both children and their parents.The main co-ordinator of the event was Dinithi Navaratne.
