Qatar and Ecuador sign agreements
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani being received by Ecuadorian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration Ricardo Patino in Quito yesterdayQNA/QuitoQatar and Ecuador signed a set of agreements aimed at boosting bilateral relations following a round of official talks chaired by HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa at the Carondelet Palace in Quito yesterday.The talks were attended by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani and a high-ranking official delegation accompanying the Emir. Following the official talks, the Emir and the Ecuadorian president witnessed the signing of agreements between the two countries.Earlier on arrival the Emir and the delegation accompanying him were greeted at Quito’s international airport by Ecuadorian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration Ricardo Patino, Qatar’s acting ambassador to Ecuador Fahad Hamad al-Aeda al-Merri and the ambassador of Ecuador to Qatar Qublan Abi Saab. The Emir arrived in Quito from the Colombian capital Bogota, where he met President Juan Manuel Santos and witnessed the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding.On departure from Bogota, the Emir and the accompanying delegation were seen off at Catam Military Airport by Colombian Deputy Foreign Minister Patti Londono, Qatar’s ambassador to Bogota Battal Mujab ad-Dosari, and Colombia’s Ambassador to Qatar Roberto Velez Vallejo. Upon his departure the Emir sent a cable of thanks and gratitude to Colombian president in which he expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality accorded to him and the accompanying delegation by the Colombian side.
