A former Doha resident, Indian national Puthiyaveettil Ramesh Babu (62), has died in Kerala province.He was cremated in his native place on Friday. Babu leaves behind a wife and three children. Babu, who was the manager of a group which ran a number of hotels, cafeterias and restaurants in Doha, including the restaurants at the petrol station, near the present Customs and Port Authority office, along Corniche, had a large circle of friends in the country’s Indian community. According to one of his close friends, Babu had been in Qatar for more than 25 years.Babu left Qatar more than six years ago and had been ailing for some time owing to a renal ailment, said one of his friends.
