New ICC panel assumes office

The new managing committee of the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) has formally assumed office.As announced earlier, Tarun Kumar Basu was elected unopposed as the president and five others made their entry into the managing committee through an election held on March 30.Among the winners of the elections is Girish Kumar K R, the new vice-president. Seenu S Pillai, who is among the five members nominated to the committee by the centre’s patron and Indian ambassador Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, is the general secretary.

Other office-bearers are Sam Kuruvilla Vilanillam (Head of Membership and Public Relations-elected), Sadeesh V (Head of Premises, HR, elected), Rajesh Singh (Head of Finance, nominated), Mantha Uma Srinivas (joint secretary, nominated), Jatinder Bajaj (Head of Sports Activities, nominated), V A Gopinath (Head of Cultural Activities, elected), Dr Nayana Wagh (Head of In-house activities, nominated) and P K Aboobecker (Head of Affiliations and Consular Activities, elected).The new committee will serve for the next two years until March 2014.Four members of the new team, namely Tarun Basu, Sadeesh V, Jatinder Bajaj and Rajesh Singh have already served in the outgoing committee. Tarun Basu was the general secretary of the outgoing committee.
