TransTech Systems, a US-based company specialised in developing sophisticated products for asphalt, concrete and soil measurements, recently gave a presentation at Ashghal Tower.TransTech CEO David Apkarian and civil and technical consultant Ronald E Berube gave a presentation on ‘Non nuclear gauge for density – Soil and asphalt.’Since 1994, TransTech has partnered with equipment manufacturers, government agencies, universities and construction contractors in over 35 programmes to develop advanced, high-tech products that enhance productivity, increase safety, and reduce costs while improving the quality of road, bridge, and facility construction. All TransTech products are manufactured in their facility in Schenectady, New York. The principals and senior staff have an impressive record of developing successful commercial products and services for non-destructive inspection and other non-contacting sensors. The five new patented products developed and commercialised by TransTech include pavement temperature sensor, shoulder wedge maker, notched wedge joint maker, pavement quality indicator, and soil density gauge.TransTech’s instruments have created a non-nuclear alternative for the asphalt and soil density gauge market. “Our gauges can be used at construction sites domestically and internationally, as well as by all of the branches of the military for use in construction,” the officials said.
