McDonald’s, LuLu and Jungle Zone have become official suppliers for the National Sport Day (NSD) on February 12, the organising committee said yesterday.The establishments will also organise activities on the day and in the run up to the event. McDonald’s is to host a NSD-themed drawing competition in its stores and across schools.A selection of 20 winning entries will be displayed at McDonald’s stall in the Sports Zone.LuLu Hypermarket will host live entertainment activities promoting the NSD at its Al Khor branch, while all staff will wear NSD t-shirts to promote participation in the event.Jungle Zone will display NSD promotional material in its premises at Hyatt Plaza to invite all visiting children and their families to take part in NSD activities.On February 12, LuLu will be the main supplier of water and fresh fruit at stations set up on the Corniche and Sports Zone venues. A stall selling healthy foods will be operational for the duration of activities at the Sports Zone, between February 12 and 16.A Jungle Zone magician and entertainer will be on hand at the Sports Zone with a series of shows, while up to 5,000 discount coupons and 250 free entry tickets to the theme park will be distributed to random participants as part of the promotion.McDonald’s will also host several activities on the NSD. These will range from games for individuals and groups to entertainment, with a programme for kids and adults. A total of 5,000 breakfast coupons will be distributed at random to lucky winners, while orange juice will be provided at the Sports Zone.The National Sport day, celebrated every second Tuesday of February, is an initiative adopted by HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent.Across the country, ministries, government departments, public and private sector organisations and sports clubs will be organising sporting activities on February 12. The event aims to create awareness about sports and its health benefits.
