Food safety panel holds third meet
Quality Management Qatar recently organised the third Congress for Food Safety Committee at Qatar University. The objective of the congress was to share experiences on regulations and standards of hygiene and food safety in Qatar with the private sector thus reflecting the importance and the role of the committee. FSMC is supported by Global Group (ISO certification body), Al Rayas Group (British material suppliers) and Highfield (British sanitiser). FSMC aims to exchange information and updates between the governmental sector and private sector. Speaker for the event, hosted by Quality Management organiser Maria Nakajima, was Highfield chairman Richard Sprenger. It was attended by five-star hotel hygiene managers and food beverage managers and food importers as well as representatives from restaurants, municipalities and the Supreme Council of Health. Participants included Doha Baladiya quality control manager Hamad Youssef Abdulla al-Malki, Rayyan Municipality health specialist Dr Faud Hamoud, Rayyan Municipality inspection manager Magdi Bowihan Zeidan, health and hygiene supervisor Abdulaziz Banaali and Food Programmes trainee Dr Abir al-Waueb.
