HSBC opens branch at City Center mall
HSBC yesterday opened a new branch at City Center as part of its efforts to strengthen presence in Qatar. The branch was inaugurated by Qatar Central Bank governor Sheikh Abdullah bin Saoud al-Thani in the presence of Francesca McDonagh, head of retail banking and wealth management – Middle East and North Africa, and HSBC Qatar chief executive officer Abdul Hakeem Mostafawi. The branch has a 24-hour banking lobby where customers have access to electronic banking channels, ATM for cash withdrawals and deposits and a specialised bulk cash deposit machine, for corporate customers. It also has a dedicated premier centre providing a full range of global financial products and services to premier customers. “Relocating the branch is part of our overall retail banking strategy to tailor our network to where our customers prefer to go,” McDonagh said. “We will continue to invest in our local operations and retail banking is an important business for growth in Qatar. The strength of the Qatari market has been reflected in the growth of our business, which has been exponential,” Mostafawi, said.
