DPA/Washington As the US capital prepares to honour President Barack Obama’s second inauguration, celebrities are descending on the city to attend balls and perform at concerts adding to the pomp of the grand celebration. The inauguration and two inaugural balls tomorrow are the main events featuring stars, for which the Presidential Inaugural Committee handpicked performers with the approval of the president. At the inauguration ceremony tomorrow, pop musician Beyonce will sing the National Anthem and Kelly Clarkson will perform “My Country Tis of Thee.” Singer-songwriter James Taylor, who also sang at the Democratic National Convention in September 2012, will perform “America the Beautiful” at the ceremony. “Vice President Biden and I are honoured to have these wonderfully talented musical artists perform at the Inaugural ceremony,” President Obama said. Celebrities performing at the balls include Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Far East Movement, fun., members of the cast of Glee, John Legend, Katy Perry, Marc Anthony, Stevie Wonder and Usher.
