Vodafone Qatar has made new appointments to the company’s senior management team.Niraj Singh has been appointed as Enterprise Business Unit director while Ger Coolen is the new chief technology officer. Singh has joined Vodafone Qatar from Vodafone India where he held the position of chief operating officer of Vodafone Global Enterprise (VGE). Singh joined Vodafone India in October 2008 and successfully steered a virtual start-up to a successful organisation, with operations spread across nine circles in India, growing the organisation from eight people in 2008 to 85 in 2011. During this time he delivered a year-on-year revenue growth of 17% making Vodafone Global Enterprises India the fastest growing market in the VGE world. Prior to joining Vodafone he held sales directorship and business development roles in a number of large organisations including Alcatel Lucent and Lucent Technologies in India and the US. Coolen has come to Vodafone Qatar from Vodafone Netherlands where he has been working for over 15 years in several roles in the technology organisation in operations, product development, networks and IT. He held the position of chief technology officer since 2008 and has had a succession of great achievements including winning the “Netherlands Best Network Award” in 2010, launching high speed mobile broadband and initiating the replacement of the BSS system. “Singh and Coolen come with extensive experience. I welcome them on board and look forward to working with them to take Vodafone Qatar to new heights,” said Vodafone Qatar CEO Richard Daly.
