Global architecture, urbanism and design practice Broadway Malyan has been appointed by developer Seef Lusail Real Estate Development Company (SEEF), a joint venture between Masraf Al-Rayan and Qatari Diar, as lead project consultant to design and manage the delivery of the presentation centre for Seef Lusail in Qatar.The presentation centre will serve as headquarters for Seef Lusail staff throughout the development of the project. Visitors will have an opportunity to learn more about Seef Lusail through an interactive display of the project. In addition, the presentation centre will house the “Doha model”, a replica of the city of Doha that includes future real estate projects planned for the city.Seef Lusail is a destination that will cater to a wide variety of age groups and families. The presentation centre will reflect Seef Lusail values by introducing a learning environment that the entire family can enjoy.The design team will deliver integrated architecture, landscape and interior design services for the high-profile presentation centre, which will comply with the Qatar Sustainability Assessment System (QSAS), with the design due to be delivered by mid-2012 and the project set to complete soon after.“Our expert design team will partner with the client and lead the project team to deliver this high-profile scheme in support of the wider development, with the building set to be our first completed building in Qatar, a country that we are actively targeting as part of our international growth strategy and in response to client demand,” Broadway Malyan director Ian Apsley said. Seef Lusail has also announced the appointment of Mohamed al-Buainin as Deputy CEO of the company.“Because of our belief that Seef Lusail is a Qatari project to be developed by Qataris for Qatar, we are proud to appoint Mohamed al-Buainin as a Deputy CEO for Seef Lusail. Al-Buainin is a seasoned real estate professional who is a prime example of Qatari talent that we hope to attract to the project and the industry,” Khalid Ahmad Fakhro, the CEO for Seef Lusail, said. Seef Lusail is a 600,000 sq m multi-use development located at the waterfront of Lusail, a new district planned to the north of Doha, which is set to be a distinctive 21st century iconic city that celebrates the special cultural and geographical heritage of Qatar and the Gulf Region.The scheme will feature an interactive 2.3km waterfront promenade that will include world-class attractions and a retail, dining and entertainment experience that will stretch along the waterfront to further add to Qatar’s appeal as an international destination that rivals major global destinations.Seef Lusail will also bring a new meaning to distinctive waterfront living in Qatar, with residential clusters that will cater for various population segments in a modern, comfortable and stylish setting.
