Qatar Vinyl Company (QVC) registered a four-wicket victory over Al Shaqab Real Estate in the final of the 24th CDC Cricket Tournament Division II at Mesaieed.
Batting first, Shaqab batsmen were bundled out for 107 runs. Parvez was the top scorer with 19 runs (2 sixes), while Rahid scored 16 runs and Kannan remained unbeaten on 12. Zahir claimed three wickets and Hidayat took two wickets, while Ibrahim, Tahir and Upul claimed a wicket each.
In reply, QVC batsmen achieved the target after losing four wickets. Zaheer and Subhash remained not out on 27 runs (2 sixes and 2 fours) and 14 runs, respectively. Mehfooz claimed two wickets, while Rahid, Ibrahim, Parvez and Mumtaz took a wicket each.
Zaheer of QVC was declared man of the match. Ishtiaq of MIC was adjudged best batsman of the tournament. Tahir of QVC bagged the best bowler award and Srini and Mohidu of Lovely Littles adjudged the best all rounder and best wicket keeper, respectively.
Captain Mahesh and Qadir of Construction Development Company (CDC) distributed the prizes. The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by Dr Tariq Kureshi.
