QALCO beat HANAN to win CDC tournament

QALCO won the 24th CDC Cricket Tournament defeating HANAN XII by one wicket in the final here at Mesaieed. Construction Development Co (CDC) is the oldest Sponsor for the Qatar Veterans’ Cricket League since the start of the League 24 years ago.

Batting first, HANAN batsmen, were bundled out for 170 runs in 20 overs. Rauf played an outstanding innings of 70 runs off 33 balls with eight sixes and one four. Parvez contributed 23 runs (3 sixes), while captain Khader scored 15 runs (2 sixes). Jabir also played sensibly during his knock of 19 runs. Tharika bowled excellently and took three wickets. Buddika claimed two wickets, while Majeed, Imtiaz, Nuwan, Haroon and Fernandes took a wicket each.

In reply QALCO started cautiously but lost wickets at regular interval and were 69 for five in 10 overs. Muzamil scored 33 runs, while Sarfaraz scored 31 runs. Budddika remained not out on 27 runs. Jabir took two wickets while Imran, Mohidu, Sajjad, Nasir, Shafiq and Mustafa took a wicket each. Rauf was declared man of the match.

Parvez of Hanan XII was adjudged best batsman, while Nitin of M Pallonji was declared best bowler. Nadeem of QALCO was adjudged best all rounder and Jabir of Hanan declared best wicket-keeper. Mr Mahesh and Mr Qadir of Construction Development Co gave way the prizes to the winners.
