Insurance professionals clinch badminton title

The Savoy Global Badminton Tournament 2012 got off to a glittering start with the chief guest George Antony, Chief Underwriting Officer, SEIB Insurance and Jerry Babu Basheer, Chief Executive Officer, Savoy Global, inaugurating the tournament which witnessed a healthy competition among the insurance industry professionals of Qatar.

Various companies, including Qatar Insurance Company, Q Life & Medical Insurance Company, Qatar Islamic Insurance Company, SEIB Insurance & Reinsurance Company, AXA Insurance Gulf, Chartis Insurance Company, Marsh Qatar, Savoy Insurance, Capital Insurance Brokers, Libano Suisse Insurance Company and Oman Insurance Company participated in the badminton tournament. The tournament was conducted at Qatar Badminton Club where the audience, which included insurance professionals, families and children.

The tournament conducted in a knock-out format witnessed a total of 49 matches. The team of Praseej VR and Ajith Kumar from Qatar Insurance Company were the winners of Men’s Doubles and Jerry Babu and Ashok Eapen from Savoy Insurance were the runners-up.

The Mixed doubles winners were Jerry Babu and Swapna Jerry of Savoy Insurance while Ligish Karaparambil and Garima Gupta finished runners-up. The Men’s singles winner was Jerry Babu of Savoy Insurance and Silva Jose from AXA Insurance Gulf claimed the runner-up title.
