A high-level Qatari delegation led by Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani al-Thani recently was received in Washington DC by Francisco J. Sanchez, US Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade at the Department of Commerce and some senior members of the US Congress. Sheikh Dr Khalid, vice-chairman of Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) and chairman and managing director of Qatar International Islamic Bank, expressed happiness at the strong relationship between the US and Qatar and the warm reception accorded to the delegation in the US capital.Topics during the discussion covered financial, commercial and investment activities in Qatar in particular and the GCC in general. US ambassador Susan L. Ziadeh and president of US – Qatar Business Council Patrick N. Theros, also former US ambassador to Qatar, were among the dignitaries present.A luncheon banquet was arranged in honour of the Qatari delegation, which comprised QIIB chief executive officer, Abdulbasit A.al-Shaibei and Sheikh Turki bin Khalid al-Thani at the Conservative Hall in Capitol Hill.
