Staff Reporter/DohaThe QMMF Racing Team comprising Nasser al-Malki and Saeed al-Sulaiti concluded the season with lots of positives at the Campeonato Español de Velocidad (CEV Series) in Valencia on Sunday. Both the riders have learnt a lot from during the CEV rounds and they are looking forward to continue the good work in next season. CEV Series is the Spanish national Championship, which run over seven rounds. In the past two decades, the championship has grown far beyond its origins, to become the most important national championship in the world. CEV is a major recruiting school for international stars making their way towards MotoGP; and a talent pool second to none.Speaking after finishing the race at Valenica, Nasser al-Malki said, “The track was wet in the warm-up and I just only rode to checking the bike. Yesterday I was thinking too much about what to do, but I couldn’t do the things I had planned.”“At the start of the race I wanted to pass some riders but it was difficult because the track were wet in some parts. I tried and I have passed riders in the first corner, after that I tried to follow riders faster than me, but it was hard to follow them.” “My experience is not enough to take big risks and I don’t want to have a crash. The year has been really good, the team and my mechanics have done a fantastic job, we have learnt too much and the next year will be the moment to show it,” he said.“The warm up was my first time in wet, I feel quite fast, faster than others riders, but it didn’t matter because the race would be in almost dry conditions.”“In the race I started quite good, I overtook four riders at the first corner from the outside and, then I have had some problems with the traffic, I was following riders that brake to early and made me loose time,” Saeed al-Sulaiti said.“I fought with some rivals and I was able to overtake them in the corners, but then, when we get to the straights, they were faster than me and overtake me again. During the race two riders were involved in a crash but I was able to slow down and avoid them, from that moment I just rode alone because the other riders where far from me.”“I am very proud of my team, the QMMF, and also for me. The team members have helped me a lot all this year and I hope to be here the next year. Thanks to the QMMF president to bring me, to one of the strongest championship in the world. Also thanks to Anthony to teach me, I have learnt a lot,” he said.QMMF World Championship rider Anthony West also praised the riders by saying, “The guys were good today, Saeed has been fighting with some riders and it is a good experience to him. About the crash that Saeed has avoided, this is racing and, he has to see that this is part of the racing.”“Nasser has done better race than the qualifying like always, he ride well and he is putting all what he have learnt when he is in the track. The track here, with the new surface, is quite good, although when it was a little bit wet the grip is good.”
