Awareness programme for visitors at Al Khor camp

The Community Policing Section of North Security Department has organised a “spring camp 2012” under the theme “for a safer spring” at Al Khor Corniche.Different departments from the Ministry of Interior and several private and public institutions from outside took part in the camp which was organised with the aim of raising security awareness among various segments of the society, including citizens and expatriates. Scores of visitors, including families residing in Al Khor and surrounding areas, visited the camp, which featured many awareness and recreational programmes.The awareness camp was organised with the participation of Civil Defence, Coast Guard, Traffic Department, Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohol Affairs, Community Policing Section of North Security Department and Seashore Group. Each pavilion briefed visitors about the functions and duties of their respective departments. The organisers also arranged a show of classic cars with the support of Seashore Group. The camp started with a performance by a band of the Police Training Institute, followed by shows presented by police dogs from the Criminal Evidences and Information Department. The Qatar Red Crescent presented a demonstration on first aid and major risks to which the families are exposed in case of medical emergencies and how to deal with them. Helicopter ambulance service took part in the camp in the course of spreading awareness on the services rendered by the flying ambulance team. Families and children were given chance to take photos close to the helicopter and inside it.
