French Minister for National Education, Youth and the Voluntary Sector, Luc Chatel has visited the Academic Bridge Programme (ABP) in Qatar Foundation’s Education City.He met with Jim Boyce, ABP assistant director for administration, Dr Mark Newmark, assistant director for academic affairs, and Ellenore Hibon, counsellor. Chatel also spoke with ABP students. The French Minister and the members of his delegation complimented the ABP on the work that is being done to prepare students academically and personally for the universities in Education City as well as other reputable universities around the world.ABP’s mission is to provide high school graduates of Qatari high schools (and other similar schools) who meet the admission requirements with the academic and personal skills for success in reputable English language universities around the world, with special emphasis on preparing students for the universities in Qatar Foundation’s Education City.ABP is now accepting admissions applications from all high school graduates to its spring semester, starting January 2012. The application deadline is November 20, 2011. The application form is available online at www.abp.edu.qa or at the ABP admissions office in the Liberal Arts and Sciences building in Education City. The application should be accompanied with a copy of the high school grades (preferred overall average of 80% or B) and a copy of IELTS score (preferred 5.0) or TOEFL (preferred 61).
