Emir attends Prince Sultan’s funeral

HH the Emir  Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani took part in the funeral prayers of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz al-Saud of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh yesterday afternoon.  The Emir’s Personal Representative HE Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani and a number of Sheikhs and ministers also attended the funeral prayers. HH the Emir conveyed his condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud and the royal family. Earlier, the Emir was greeted upon arrival at the airbase airport in Riyadh by HRH Acting Governor of Riyadh Province Sattam bin Abdulaziz al-Saud and Qatar’s Ambassador to the Kingdom, Ali bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud. The Qatari delegations has since returned to Doha. 

 Meanwhile, HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani left Doha yesterday evening for Riyadh on a visit to Saudi Arabia where he will convey his condolences and heartfelt sympathy on the death of Prince Sultan.  HH the Heir Apparent is accompanied during the visit by HH the Special Adviser to HH the Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani and a number Sheikhs, ministers and sons of HH the Emir.
