Dolphin Energy Qatar has celebrated the completion of its annual summer programme 2011 for high school, internship and scholarship students. The summer intern programme aims to develop participants’ academic experiences, to utilize their chosen field of study and to offer Qatari students diversified employment as well as business opportunities. Eight of the participating students are currently studying at Qatar University, College of the North Atlantic, Texas A&M and three high schools. During the programme, they were trained in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Management and International Business, Human Resources, Business and Economics, Marketing, International Business and International Affairs.“Our summer programme helps attract young, bright Qataris to the company. They are given a taste of working with us so that they can see the benefits of working at one of the region’s best employers,” Adel Ahmed Albuainain, general manager, Dolphin Energy Qatar said, adding: “The programme taps directly into our nationalisation strategy and provides opportunities to deepen our relationship with leading educational institutions in Qatar. We look forward to welcoming the students back as Dolphin Energy employees.” Since its launch in 2005, more than 53 students have completed the programme, which is one of the methods used by the company to enhance its Qatarisation strategy that is attracting Qataris into the workplace and supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030 in the process. Each participant in the programme received a certificate in recognition of his/her achievement during the programme.
