US universities’ representatives visit ABP

The Academic Bridge Programme, a centre of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development recently received representatives from the Education City’s six top-ranking American universities.The gathering was held at the Learning Resource Center (LRC) of the Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) building in Education City. This visit was widely anticipated by ABP’s newly enrolled class of 2012. The visit took place after the ABP class hours and was attended by approximately 150 students. Ellenore Hibon, ABP counsellor  said: “The EC Presentation gave ABP students a chance to meet and speak directly to EC admission officers and get key information about admission, programmes, and courses offered.” The university representatives emphasised the importance of doing well in tests and academic courses and starting the application process early.All the universities represented in Education City that offer undergraduate degrees attended the ABP event. These universities are: Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, Texas A&M University at Qatar, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Georgetown University School of Foreign Science in Qatar, and Northwestern University in Qatar.
