Parkview Pet Centre hosts seminar

Parkview Pet Centre recently hosted a seminar on “Responsible Dog Ownership” for members of the Filipino community, helping to teach participants about grooming, training, healthcare and behavioural habits among other skills.The event was organised by ASQAT, a group of Filipino dog owners and animal enthusiasts, who worked in conjunction with Parkview to host the session.The seminar was presented by Dr Maykel Mora, the senior veterinarian at Parkview, and was attended by around 30 participants.Owner and managing director of the recently opened Parkview Centre, Abdulla al-Naemi said: “By offering various community groups the opportunity to learn more about the responsibility of owning a pet, we hope that, in the long term, there will be fewer neglected and abandoned dogs in this country and the overall welfare of pets will improve.”Dr Mora stated: “I was delighted to be invited by ASQAT to deliver this seminar.  I am proud to say that, as part of its social responsibility programme, Parkview is always on the lookout for innovative events that help the community to understand and improve the quality of life for their pets.”Money raised from ticket sales for the seminar will be presented to local rescue groups to contribute towards their medical expenses, while the Sealine Beach Resort donated a number of items and Parkview also presented vouchers to assist rescue groups with medical bills.
