United Development Company (UDC), master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, welcomed a large number of children from the Dhreima Qatar Orphan Foundation, at a reception celebrating Eid al-Fitr. The event took place on September 2 at The Pearl-Qatar.UDC hosted a number of entertainment activities specially developed for children from Dhreima. Activities such as magic shows, balloon sculpturing, face painting, and clowns entertained children and adults alike. UDC representatives also gave the children a guided tour of The Pearl-Qatar and provided gifts to mark the festive occasion. A UDC spokesperson commented: “We were delighted to host the children of Dhreima. Our company prides itself in supporting such charitable causes for children and this initiative comes as a part of UDC’s commitment to the local community”Dhreima was established in June 2003 under the patronage of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. The organisation supports orphans by offering them the tools and opportunities necessary to become contributing members of Qatari society. During the holy month of Ramadan, The Pearl-Qatar’s distinguished list of restaurants such as Burj Al Hamam, Pampano and Chocolate Bar also donated 10% of their revenue, which will serve to benefit a number of charitable institutions in Qatar.
