Charity Reach Out To Asia (Rota) and THE One, the international retailer of premium home furniture, have jointly refurbished a home for a needy family, in the hope that it would change their lives. The initiative, which is part of Rota’s Ramadan campaign tagged ‘Rota Reaches Out to All Children’ – a volunteer programme with support from partners and sponsors, is a manifestation of Rota’s commitment to Qatari society in accordance to the values and spirit of Ramadan.Along with a number of Rota volunteers, staff from THE One fully renovated a lucky family’s home, including carpeting, flooring, painting, and brand new furniture. “Ramadan is a month where we focus our energy on helping those in need. At Rota, along with our partners and sponsors, we make sure that the actions we take in Ramadan are long term and sustainable and drastically change the lives of the recipients for the better. We are privileged to work with THE One for the fifth consecutive year and we thank them for their support,” said Rota Community Development manager Mohamed Abdulla Saleh.THE One Qatar general manager Gaby Salome said: “We are proud of what we achieved here today – the smiles and tears of joy from the family made this all worthwhile.”“We have always considered it a matter of policy to give back to the community, as the success of our chain would not be possible without local support. Along with our partner Reach Out To Asia, we have ensured that this family will have a meaningful Ramadan. We know that the results of the renovation will be both meaningful and long-term.”Volunteers also reflected on the significance of this undertaking, and the spiritual mark it left on them. “Although I try to do as much as possible to help other’s during Ramadan, this is the first time that I have actively worked on a project whereby I was able to see the outcome of my efforts,” THE One volunteer Abdulrahman Ibrahim said adding: “The work that we put in as a team and the gratification of the family after we completed the renovation, has inspired me to even become more active in Ramadan charitable activities in the future.”
