The Qatar Railways Company (QRC) has organised a lecture about Islam during a Suhour event held at the Four Seasons Hotel Doha. The lecture was attended by chief executive Saad al-Mohannadi, managing director Abdulla al-Subaie, and Qatari Diar Group chief executive Mohammed bin Ali al-Hedfa along with other executive staff and QRC employees. The lecture was led by Dominique M Foley, a representative from Fanar (Qatar Islamic Cultural Centre), who explained the five pillars of Islam, the importance of fasting, its role in cleansing the body and soul, and the significance of prayer. He also urged the attendees to seize the opportunity and increase their worship during the holy month of Ramadan. On QRC’s corporate initiative, Foley said: “There is always a place for corporate investment into Islam. I see this exercise as a positive step forward to introduce people who are guests in this country to our way of life as Qataris, Arabs and Muslims.”“They are already experiencing our Muslim traditions in their daily life so by explaining the core of our religion they can start making some connections to things that they already know,” he said.
