The father of a student who was recently expelled from an Indian expatriate school where he was studying in Class 10  “on disciplinary grounds” lashed out at the school officials at a media briefing yesterday.Kabeer Pulikkal, said there was no justification whatsoever on the part of the MES Indian School governing body to expel his son at a crucial juncture of his academic career.Pulikkal said if the school authorities had found his son “unfit” to continue at the institution, they should have informed him well before the academic year started. “However, the school authorities never informed either me or my wife about the issues involving my son,” claimed Pulikkal. The father also said he had already moved petitions seeking justice in the Supreme Education Council (SEC) and with the Indian embassy. However, when contacted the school authorities said the boy’s parents had been informed well in advance about the issues involving their son and the school had in its possession those records. “The child was expelled from the school on disciplinary grounds ,” said the principal of the school . He had accumulated the maximum penalty points possible over a period of time and this explain the position of the school, he said. The principal maintained that the decision taken by the school management was for the good of the student .  He also acknowledged that the SEC had made some inquiries about the issue and the school has given a detailed reply.
