The Inter Business Council Qatar (IBCQ) has held their second Annual Golf Tournament at Doha Golf Club, providing its members a platform for interacting and exchanging information on business opportunities.The event was jointly organised by Qatar British Business Forum (QBBF), the Dutch Business Council Qatar (DBCQ) and the German Business Council Qatar (GBCQ).In addition, this year the Spanish and Scandinavian Business Councils were welcomed on board.The five non-profit organisations were originally formed to maintain links with their respective embassies for supporting trade missions and official state visits.CBSbutler, a multi-award winning recruitment firm specialising in the engineering and technology sectors, was the Diamond Sponsor co-hosting the IBCQ Golf Tournament for 2011.CBSbutler office manager Michelle Parcell said: “CBSbutler are proud to be hosting this event, which as well as an enjoyable day for everyone concerned, also brings business people together, helping promote relationships and commercial interests in the region.”The format for the tournament was a two-man scramble and started at 12pm with a shotgun start.In total 74 players enjoyed a competitive round of golf on a challenging course. The winners on the day were Simon Taylor and Edo Swart in first place, Marten Helg and Clinton McNamara in second, and Gerrit Smitkamp and Martin Porta in third.Networking between members continued after the golf tournament with a dinner and live music performances followed by the prize-giving. In addition to the team prizes there were also special prizes to be won.
