Expat group holds blood donation drive

Karnataka Muslim Cultural Association (KMCA) a registered body under Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), organised hosted a blood donation drive yesterday at Hamad Medical Corporation’s Blood Donor Unit. Around 200 people came forward. Around 40 KMCA members, including women donated blood.Dr Mohamed Parvez, hailing from Mangalore, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance and benefits of donating blood. KMCA president Saquib Raza Khan welcomed the gathering.Indian embassy first secretary M R Qureshi, Indian Community Benevolent Fund vice president Habibul Nabi, general secretary Divakar Poojary, ICC’s affiliations and consular services head Milan Arun, Karnataka Sangha Qatar president Arun Kumar, Tulu Koota Qatar president Ramachandra Shetty, South Kanara Muslim Welfare Association president Abdull Mono, Kundapur Taluk Welfare Association president Yaseen,  Al Madeena Qatar Chapter president Ibrahim P M,  Pallonji Qatar managing director Chidananda, Satco International managing director M S Bukari, and community members M I Farid, Ashmath Ali, Dinesh Chandra Shetty, Prakash Rao, Seetharam Shetty, Mohan J, Shridhar Nayak and Sudhir Kotian attended the function. The KMCA managing committee thanked Team Engineering Company managing partner Salim U who arranging for his employees to donate blood.
