Qatar Steel signs agreement for new plant

Qatar Steel director and general manager Ali Hassan al-Muraiki  and Siemens VAI senior vice president  Norbert Petermaier shaking hands after signing an agreement for a new  1.1mn tonnes per year steel plant near the existing Qatar Steel facility at Mesaieed. The plant will have Siemens VAI’s Ultra High Power 110 Tons Electric Arc Furnace, 110 T Ladle Furnace and 6 strand High Speed Billet Caster coupled with Sophisticated Fume Extraction System for zero emission. It will be designed according to Siemens "VAI’s best technology” in the field of steel plant machinery, equipment and automation.
