Speaking to Gulf Times, Al Motahajiba operations manager Ranjit Kumar said his company, which has been operating for almost 30 years, sewed dresses for both Qataris and expatriates, especially the Europeans.
"The bulk of our customers are Qataris but we do have many expatriates willing to try out our designs, especially when they need to attend important occasions such as weddings and gala dinners,” he explained.
Dresses cost between QR400 and 10,000 in the store.
Dresses at Danat Al Kuwait, which specialises in creating more colourful apparels of various sizes and shapes such as long and short jalabias as well as abayas, are priced at QR1,000 up to QR3,000.
Two different fashion shows were featured daily throughout IWED, show concept idealist Violaine Hurlimann said.
Apart from fashion shows, Lebanese professional dancing team - Raqsaat - based in the Emirate, also spruced up the event, bringing alive Lebanese tradition and culture.
The group featured Romanian, Spanish and Palestinian dances, aside solo performances by violinist and saxophonist.
"We have more than 10 years’ experience performing more than 40 themes with Arabic and oriental touch in corporate events, gala dinners, weddings and other special shows,” owner of the group Wael Jaber said.
The group is planning to establish a branch soon.
