Admired throughout the Middle East for her vocal prowess, beauty and dress sense, Waed’s involvement in fashion started in her youth. After encouragement from friends and fans alike she launched the Waed Line, her unique fashion collection with every piece designed by the ‘Queen of Saudi Design’.
"My collection of modern women’s fashion ranges from fun and casual chic to high octane red carpet glamour. My fans visiting IWED 2011 will discover how my designs make women look beautiful while feeling comfortable and confident,” says Waed.
Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, Waed first appearance was on TV where she sang in children’s programme. Waed has performed songs by leading Saudi composers such as Mohamed Abdu and Talal al-Maddah, and has performed concerts throughout the GCC, Middle East, Europe and North America.
"We are delighted to welcome an entertainer, designer and celebrity of Waed’s status to IWED 2011 because from the beginning it was the vision of IWED to be the biggest wedding show in the Middle East and an international event that attracts the biggest names in fashion,” IWED organiser Qatar Expo’s chief operating officer Georges Saliba said.
IWED 2011 is Qatar’s only major wedding exhibition and a showcase for the regional wedding industry. Now in its 4th year, IWED 2010 is on schedule to attract 22,000 visitors and 100 exhibitors as exhibition sales for the 10,000 sqm wedding expo at the Doha Exhibition Centre exceed 70%.
