More than 500 people from different faiths attended a lecture delivered by Ejaz Ahmad Aslam, Indian scholar and chief editor of Delhi-based Radiance Views Weekly magazine.
The lecture, ‘Relevance of God in Today’s World’, was organised by Indian Friends Circle (IFC), Qatar in co-operation with Fanar in Doha last week.
Aslam called on people of all faiths to follow the universal laws of the Creator.
He said the existence of world is meaningless without the concept of God. "All the dynamics and statistics point to the fact that there is a great Planner and Designer, who is in full control of the entire universe. Whether one believes or not, the world and its complete systems are unison because of the existence of God.”
He went on to explain that every man is responsible for his choices and decisions made in this world and its consequence in the hereafter. "To live peacefully in this world, mankind needs to tune himself to the laws of the Creator.”
He stressed that people of all faiths should come together to build a peaceful and harmonious society on common grounds.
The programme, which began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Master Hisham, was convened by Ahmed Azim. Dr. Ali Idrees Mohamed, supervisor, Muslim Communication unit at Fanar, also spoke on the occasion. Syed Mohiuddin Shakir,  president of IFC, welcomed the gathering while Sajid Ahmed, IFC general secretary, proposed a vote of thanks. Earlier, a quiz was conducted by Mohamed Maqbool Ahmed for the audience.
