Leading brands draw visitors to 51 East stand
With brands such as Rolex and Boucheron under its umbrella, the 51 East stand at the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition is proving a popular destination with visitors to the show.
The stand is hosting a number of the company’s partners and officials said that the exhibition has already proven to be a success since opening earlier this week.
Boucheron of Paris, which is displaying items from the new 2011 collection, is one of the more popular boutiques at the exhibition, with its selection of stunning watches and jewellery.
Many of the pieces are unique, and highlights include a one-off ‘Peacock’ watch for QR4.2mn and a necklace entitled ‘Accrochement’ valued at QR5mn.
Representatives of Boucheron explained that a large portion of the items on display are new, offering customers a chance to see the latest designs from one of their favourite brands.
Rolex are always among the most popular brands at the exhibition, as the world famous watches are highly desired by customers in the region.
This year is no exception, and the Rolex boutique boasts an dazzling array of timepieces, set to impress.
Many other brands are featured at the 51 East boutique, including well known names such as Guy Laroche, Diamanti, Vulcain, Faberge and Fitzroy among others. The stand’s collection of luxury fountain pens by Parker also offers something a bit different for visitors.
Another popular brand at the show is Pasquale Bruni, a collection of Italian jewellery designed in a modern style.
Gulf Times spoke to area manager for the brand, Chiara Narratone who talked about the development of the local market and the importance of the exhibition.
"This is definitely a high profile market for us,” she said, adding "people have really learnt a lot more and they know a lot more about what they are looking for now.”
"Although the Arabic market has traditionally followed very classical styles, they have opened up to new frontiers and are embracing more modern design such as Pasquale Bruni,” she added.
Narratone explained that Pasquale Bruni will be opening a store in Qatar in the next few months, with a shop-in-shop to be launched at the Lagoona mall.
