Indian cricketer Sadanand Viswanath for final on Thursday

Karnataka Sangha releasing a souvenir to mark the start of their annual cricket tournament
Former Indian wicketkeeper Sadanand Viswanath is arriving tomorrow to attend the semifinals and final of the 2nd annual cricket tournament for Indian expatriates being hosted by Karnataka Sangha Qatar. The final is on Thursday.
Forum president K M Arun Kumar said Viswanath, who was a member of the Indian team which won the 1985 Benson and Hedges World Championship in Australia, would be the chief guest at the ceremony to be held as part of the tournament final at old Ideal Indian School grounds on Thursday
The tournament, started earlier this month has 12 teams participating. The forum would also honour Viswanath in recognition of his contributions to the popularity of cricket in Karnataka and India.
At the opening ceremony on February 1, K M Arun Kumar welcomed the gathering. The chief guests of the day were M Pallonji Qatar general manager of Chidanand and Qatar Design consortium finance and administration manager M Satish. A host of representatives of the Indian Cultural Centre and Indian Community Benevolent Fund attended the inaugural ceremony.
Earlier, a march past led by KSQ sports advisor Dr Sanjay Kudri was held. A brochure was released to mark the occasion. Sangha vice president V Mannangi and Niaz Ahmed and past presidents of KSQ presented mementos to all participating teams. B Arun proposed a vote of thanks.
The main sponsors of the tournament are M Pallonji Qatar and associate sponsors are Qatar Design Consortium.
