300 exhibitors sign up for Doha jewellery show

Up to 50,000 visitors are expected at the Eighth Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition as more than 300 exhibitors have already signed up for the high-profile event that will be held from February 15 and 20.
Last year, the exhibition attracted more than 20,000 visitors including those from neighbouring countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and the UAE.
The six-day event to be held at the Doha Exhibition Centre under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani, will feature world’s exclusive brands in jewellery and watches.
In addition to a list of regular exhibitors, some 37 new participants will showcase their latest designs.
Speaking at a press conference in Doha yesterday, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) chairman Ahmed al-Nuaimi said the high profile of exhibitors continued to attract interested and enthusiastic customers from around the region, which has helped made the show one of the most successful in the Gulf and the world.
"QTA is committed to promoting Qatar as a first-rate destination for business, industry conferences, cultural events, education, sports and leisure, which is why we are providing world-class amenities and services,” he added.
Among the significant Qatari exhibitors in the event are Alfardan Jewellery, Ali bin Ali Watches and Jewellery, Fifty One East, Amiri Gems, , Blue Saloon, Al Majeed Jewellery, Al Muftah Jewellery, Makki Jewellery, Marzook Al Shamlan, Paris Gallery and Al Zain. 
International brands featuring in the show include Cartier, Van Clef and Arpels, Audemers Piguet, Richard Mile and Montblanc, Chopard, Chanel, Vacheron Constantin and Piaget, Zenith, Damiani, Maurice Lacroix and Ladoire, Palmiero, Jacob and Company, Concord and Fran Vila, Patel Philippe, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Century, Ebel and Giovanni Ferraris.
QNB and Qatar Airways are the gold and silver sponsors respectively.
