A spokesperson explained: "Upon its arrival in the Middle East the new MINI Countryman launch is the fourth model to join the MINI family and the first ever MINI model to have four doors, four individual seats and an all-wheel drive option.”
"While still retaining the unique spirit of what a MINI is renowned for, this new addition to the family has a distinctive design and sporting character that bridges the gap between the classic MINI and a modern Sports Activity Vehicle,” he added.
General manager of Alfardan Automobiles Mohamed Kandeel said: "The new MINI Countryman allows us to bring MINI’s unique personality to a much wider audience as it opens up a whole new segment of customers who appreciate MINI but require more space and versatility.”
"We are confident that the new MINI Countryman will do well in Qatar and build upon our successful 2010 sales results, which saw an 85% growth in MINI sales from 2009,” he said.
Alfardan Automobiles will also be displaying six BMW models, including the all-new X3, Z4, X5M, X6M, ActiveHybrid 7 Series and 550 Sedan, as well as the latest bespoke Middle East commissioned Phantom from Rolls-Royce.
Kandeel commented: "We are pleased to participate in the first Qatar Motor Show and we expect it will be well attended by many car enthusiasts eager to see the latest models on display. We are looking forward to personally welcome the visitors to our stand and invite them to view an impressive display of models from BMW Group.”
