Interior ministry staff attend cultural meet

The gathering, which held at the Hamza bin Abdul Muthalib School in Doha, was attended by some 2,000 people of the Indian community.
The director of Public Relations at the Interior Ministry Lt. Col. Abdullah Khalifa al-Muftah said that the ministry was keen to "build strong and positive relations with all expatriate communities in Qatar”.
In his speech, the KCC’s president Abu Backer al-Qasimi expressed his appreciation of the Ministry of Interior for its participation in the 3rd edition of the Cultural programme.
Al-Qasimi also added the KCC was ready to co-operate with the efforts of the Ministry of Interior for ensuring security in the country.
Officials from the General Directorate of Borders Passports and Expatriates Affairs, Traffic Department, Coasts and Borders Security Department (CBSD), Civil Defence and Public Relations Department attended the programme.
Highlighting articles of the law regulating the residence of expatriates in Qatar, the director of Al-Khor Services Centre Col. Eissa Rashid al-Humaidi said new-comers should approach the Medical Commission within seven days of entering the country and that they should not keep their passports with employers.
During the programme, the KCC felicitated Col. al-Humaidi and Lt. Col. al-Muftah, while the Ministry of Interior honoured the KCC for its co-operation with the ministry.
