Sports Reporter/DohaThe best player of the 2011-2012 football season will receive a whopping $100,000, the Qatar Stars League announced yesterday.The annual QFA Awards ceremony was launched in 2006 and is the pinnacle annual event on the Qatar football calendar. It will be held on May 13 at Aspire dome.The top scorer will also receive $100,000 while winners of awards such as best under-21 player, best team manager, best coach will get QR100,000.The award for best under-18 player has been withdrawn because “no outstanding” talent was discovered this year, the QFA said.The 10 nominees for the best player award are Rodrigo Tabata (Al Rayyan), Moumouni Dagano (Lekhwiya), Majeed Bougherra (Lekhwiya), Karim Ziani (El Jaish), Adriano ( El Jaish), Jaycee John ( Al Kharaitiat), Yahia Kipi (Al Kharaitiat), Khalfan Ibrahim Khalfan (Al Sadd), Nadir Belhadj (Al Sadd) and Younis Mahmoud (Al Wakrah)
The winner of last years’ best player 2011 award was Lekhwiya striker Bakari Kone from the Ivory Coast .The nominees for the best coach are Djamal Belmadi (Lekhwiya), Jorge Fossati (Al Sadd), Diego Aguirre (Al Rayyan), Pericles Chamusca (El Jaish), Paulo Silas (Al Gharafa), Alain Perrin (Al Khor), Adnan Derjal (Al Wakrah), Pierre Lechantre (Al Arabi), Laurent Banide (Al Kharaitiat), Saeed Shiba (Qatar SC), Gerard Gilli (Umm Salal) and Bernard Semondi (Al Ahli).
