It will be the final chance for Qatar’s newly appointed Brazilian coach Sebastiao Lazaroni to iron out rough edges in his side before they start the third round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup against Group E rivals Bahrain on September 2 in Manama. Qatar will entertain Iran at home in the second match four days later. The UAE will start their qualifying campaign against Kuwait on September 2 in Al Ain and play their second match away against Lebanon on September 6.
