FAMILY
A couple with 22 children, 17 of whom are living, pose for a picture with some of their children and extended family outside their cramped one bedroom apartment in a poor community of Baseco village in Manila yesterday.

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) said that with a population of 94mn, the Philippines is the 12th most populous country in the world and with an average of 2mn babies born every year, the number could hit the 100mn mark by 2015. The United Nations estimates that the world population will reach 7bn this year, making the population almost quarter of what it was in 1960. It is projected that the growth will continue to 9bn by 2050 and 10bn by 2100.
