In an unprecedented move, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon Bangladeshis to call her if anyone attempts corruption using her name or those of her family members.“My family comprises me, my sister Rehana and our five children. I have no other family apart from these seven,” the prime minister told parliament late on Wednesday night.She also disclosed her cell phone numbers and e-mail address so people could contact her if anyone used the name of her family to secure undue privilege.“I want to make it clear, if anyone resorts to corrupt practices in the name of my family, just inform me. My telephone numbers are- 01711-520000 and 01819-260371, my e-mail address is
sheikhhasina@hotmail.com,” Hasina told the legislature, responding to a question from the independent lawmaker Fazlul Azim.“My family means us - the two sisters and our five children. Other than these seven members, no one is my family member,” said Hasina, adding that her government would not tolerate corruption. “We have come to power not to take commission, we are here to serve the people,” said Hasina.She added that the previous Bangladesh Nationalist Party government and the military-led interim administration probed alleged corruption by her family but found nothing.The BNP has alleged that she and her family members are involved in massive corruption.
