Team Qatar makes history with third place in the 2026 European Le Mans Series

Team Qatar by Iron Lynx has achieved a historic milestone by finishing third overall in the LMGT3 Teams’ Championship of the 2026 European Le Mans Series (ELMS), becoming the first Qatari team to achieve this result.

In addition, Abdulla al-Khelaifi and Julian Hanses secured third place in the LMGT3 Drivers’ Championship standings.

In the season finale at Portugal’s Algarve International Circuit, the team led the race for approximately two and a half hours before a penalty affected its final result. Despite the setback, Team Qatar fought until the chequered flag to conclude an impressive season on the international stage.

Another major highlight was Abdulla al-Khelaifi securing pole position for the team, underlining its competitiveness against a strong international field.

These achievements mark an important milestone for Qatari motorsport and reflect the continued efforts of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) to strengthen Qatar’s presence in international motorsport.
