Today, the Qatar Olympic Committee held an official reception on the sidelines of the 20th Asian Games "Aichi-Nagoya 2026." The exceptional evening brought together approximately one hundred guests from across the Asian Olympic Movement, celebrating Qatari sport, culture, and hospitality. The event highlighted Doha's progress towards hosting the 2030 Asian Games.
The reception, held at the Qatari delegation's headquarters in the Tiad Hotel in Nagoya, brought together representatives from National Olympic Committees, sports federations, and participating delegations, fostering stronger bonds within the Asian sporting community.
The event was held under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad al-Thani, Board Member of the Qatar Olympic Committee, and in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, President of the Olympic Council of Asia. In her address, HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad al-Thani reviewed Qatar's experience in hosting sporting events, emphasising the values of hospitality and the role of sport in bringing communities together and strengthening ties between them.
The evening featured a short film showcasing the journey from the Doha 2006 Games through Aichi-Nagoya 2026 and culminating in Doha 2030, highlighting the athletes, fans, and the entire sporting community as integral parts of Doha's hosting of the Asian Games.
The dinner showcased the richness of Qatari cuisine and local hospitality through a menu prepared by renowned Qatari chef and cultural ambassador Nouf Al Marri, offering an experience of authentic Qatari flavors that reflect the heritage and contemporary brilliance of Qatari cuisine. The evening was further enhanced by a live oud performance, adding a touch of Qatari musical heritage and completing the cultural landscape of the event.
Prior to the dinner, the Bayt Qatar in Nagoya welcomed visitors who had the opportunity to explore a range of interactive cultural and digital experiences, learning about the journey of Qatari sport from the Doha 2006 Asian Games to Doha 2030. On this occasion, His Excellency Mr. Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, stated:

The "Bayt Qatar,” which will remain open to visitors throughout the Games, serves as one of the platforms for this interaction, offering an experience that allows the public to learn about Qatari culture and heritage, explore the development of sports in the country, and learn about Qatar’s preparations to welcome Asia back in 2030.
