The Qatar Central Bank, in cooperation with the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), has announced the commencement of acceptance of the national payment card ‘Himyan’ in Saudi Arabia and the Saudi national payment network ‘mada’ card in Qatar, marking a new milestone in advancing cooperation and integration between the national payment systems of the two countries.

The gradual commencement of acceptance follows the completion of the technical and operational integration and connectivity arrangements, paving the way for card usage and access to payment services upon completion of the approved integration phases.
The initiative represents another milestone in strengthening connectivity between the payment ecosystems of Qatar and Saudi Arabia. It will contribute to more efficient and seamless cross-border payments while expanding access to national payment solutions.
The cooperation reflects the commitment of both sides to further develop payment infrastructure and enhance integration between their national systems, supporting the digital transformation of the financial sector and improving the efficiency, convenience, and accessibility of payment services.
