The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC)’s Natural Reserves Department has seized several bird-calling devices, in the area under the jurisdiction of Brouq unit within Al Reem Nature Reserve.
The seizure was carried out as part of the ministry’s ongoing inspection and monitoring campaigns to protect wildlife and natural reserves.
It took place during a field inspection conducted by the ministry’s teams within the reserve, as part of intensified monitoring of natural and wilderness areas, aimed at identifying practices that could negatively affect birds, wildlife, and their natural habitats.
Accordingly, the concerned team took the necessary measures regarding the violations detected.
The MoECC has called on visitors to wilderness areas and nature reserves to comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations.
It also urged them to avoid using methods or engaging in practices that could harm wildlife or disrupt ecological balance.
