Qatar University (QU) will launch an event dedicated to welcoming new students and first-year students under the title "Hayyakum 2026" to introduce new students to university life and the basic services and resources available to them in support their academic journey, during the period from August 31 to September 3.
In a statement issued yesterday, the QU indicated that the event seeks to integrate new students and first-year students into the university environment from the beginning of their university experience.
The university highlighted that the event includes field tours of the university campus, introductory and interactive activities, in addition to direct meetings with representatives of academic advising and various administrative and service units.
The QU invited new students and first-year students to participate in this event and benefit from the programmes and services offered.
The university emphasised its continued commitment to supporting students and enabling them to build an integrated and rich university experience.
QU Vice-President for Student Affairs Dr Mohammed Diab said that the "Hayyakum 2026” event is one of the initiatives through which the QU's commitment to enriching the extracurricular student experience is established in order to achieve the second goal of the university's 2023-30 strategic plan.
He stressed the QU's keenness through this platform to welcome its new students and prepare them to embark on their university life with confidence and awareness.
Dr Diab said that the students' success and excellence is not limited to the academic aspect, but is related to their ability to benefit from the various services, resources and opportunities provided by the university, and to the extent of their integration and interaction with their university environment.
He expressed the keenness of the Student Affairs Sector to ensure that the Hayyakum event brings together the various services and units that students need in one place, allowing them to directly learn about the available sources of support and guidance, and to have their inquiries answered, in addition to participating in interactive activities and introductory tours that help them discover the university campus and learn about university life in a more comprehensive way. – QNA
