Qatar Charity (QC)'s Sri Lanka office has successfully completed a major vision care initiative under its global health programmes as part of the Challenge 27 Campaign, bringing renewed hope and improved quality of life to hundreds of vulnerable individuals across the country.With a total project cost of QR282,480, the initiative enabled the completion of 300 cataract surgeries and the distribution of 555 prescription spectacles, which includes vision correction support for 150 school students.The programme was launched in response to the growing need for accessible eye care services among low-income families, elderly individuals suffering from cataracts, and children whose educational performance was being affected by uncorrected vision problems. By partnering with qualified medical professionals and healthcare institutions, Qatar Charity ensured that beneficiaries received essential eye examinations, surgical interventions, and corrective eyewear free of charge.This intervention forms part of Qatar Charity's health programme initiatives, which also encompass malnutrition projects for children under five and pregnant women, as well as support for chronic disease treatment. Collectively, these initiatives benefit more than 2,000 cases, with a total budget of QR988,680.
