QIIB has received the ‘Innovation in Shariah-Compliant Financial Product’ and ‘Outstanding Corporate Islamic Banking Services’ accolades at the Global Business and Finance Magazine Awards 2026, further strengthening its track record of international recognition and achievement.
The awards recognise QIIB’s leading role in shaping the future of Islamic banking and its proven success in developing innovative financing solutions and advanced banking services that meet the evolving needs of businesses and institutions, while keeping pace with the latest technological and regulatory developments in global financial markets.
The judging panel at Global Business and Finance Magazine stated: "QIIB earned this recognition for its outstanding performance and ability to respond effectively to rapid technological advances and evolving market requirements.
"In recent years, the bank has launched a number of pioneering initiatives that have helped advance innovative Islamic financing solutions, combining full compliance with Shariah principles with advanced digital technologies.”
Omar Abdulaziz al-Meer, chief of Corporate Banking at QIIB, said: "This recognition reflects the international acknowledgement we have earned through our sustained efforts and significant, long-term investments across the bank. It also demonstrates our success in translating our strategic vision into tangible results that our corporate and institutional clients experience every day.”
Al-Meer noted, "Winning the Innovation in Shariah-Compliant Financial Products award reflects QIIB’s integrated approach to combining technological innovation with financial excellence and the continued development of its treasury, investment and financing products. Our vision is focused on developing innovative and flexible financing instruments that combine Shariah principles with operational flexibility and effective risk management.
"This approach has enabled QIIB, on many occasions, to lead the market in introducing services, products and financing structures that were the first of their kind in Qatar, helping to broaden the investor base, enhance market liquidity and support sustainability and economic growth.”
Commenting on the significance of winning the Outstanding Corporate Islamic Banking Services award, al-Meer said: "Corporate banking is a key focus of our strategy, and this award reflects our success in building a smart, secure and integrated banking platform that enables companies to manage their financial transactions efficiently.”
He said QIIB also focused on providing its institutional clients with a comprehensive banking experience, offering a broad range of digital and traditional services supported by advanced technology infrastructure that keeps pace with the latest global developments in cybersecurity and digital governance.
This enabled the bank to deliver a high standard of performance and a seamless banking experience, while strengthening our long-term partnerships with the business sector, he said.
According to al-Meer, the achievement is part of QIIB’s broader approach to supporting digital financial transformation and strengthening its role as an active partner in financing strategic and infrastructure projects.
These efforts are closely aligned with the Third Financial Sector Strategy launched by the Qatar Central Bank and support the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, he pointed out.
"We believe that QIIB’s strong performance is driven, above all, by the strength, resilience and unique advantages of the Qatari economy, which continues to demonstrate robust growth and a leading position,” al-Meer said.
He added: "The satisfaction of our customers, both individuals and businesses, remains the true measure of our performance. These awards provide further motivation to continue investing in advanced technology and ongoing innovation, enabling us to develop new solutions that bring real value to the banking sector.
"This latest achievement adds to QIIB’s growing record of international recognition across digital banking, mobile banking applications, retail banking, capital market development and local currency sukuk issuances. These achievements further strengthen the confidence of investors and customers in the Bank’s financial and operational performance.”
