Inc. Arabia's Women Of Influence 2026: 60 female leaders setting new standards for business in the MENA region
Their stories are a testament to the remarkable depth of female leadership across the MENA region today—and we hope you'll find them every bit as inspiring as we did
When we opened applications for the 2026 edition of Inc. Arabia's Women of Influence, our annual showcase of female trailblazers in the MENA business landscape, we felt quite sure that we'd receive another exceptional pool of candidates, much like this initiative's earlier installments in 2025 and 2024. What we didn't anticipate, however, was just how overwhelming the response would be.
By the time we closed our call for applications, we had received more than 300 entries, a threefold increase from the number we received last year. And while that kind of growth is remarkable in itself, what struck us even more was the caliber of the women behind those applications. As we worked our way through every submission, it became increasingly clear that limiting this year's Women of Influence to just 30 honorees—as was done in previous editions—would mean leaving too many deserving stories untold.
That's why, this year, we've doubled the number of names featured in Women of Influence from 30 to 60. Even so, selecting the final list remained an incredibly difficult exercise, with many deserving candidates ultimately missing out. But the reality is that no undertaking of this nature can ever be truly exhaustive; there will always be more inspiring stories than we have the space to tell. That said, if this year's Women of Influence shines a light on even a fraction of the extraordinary women shaping business across the MENA, then we will have achieved exactly what we set out to do.
It’s also fitting that this special edition of Inc. Arabia arrives in August, which is when the UAE celebrates Emirati Women’s Day. As the country celebrates the achievements and contributions of the women of the UAE, we're especially proud to feature three exceptional Emirati women on our cover: HE Sara Abdelaziz Al Nuaimi, CEO, Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa), Hajar Bakhit Alketbi, Director of Government Communication, UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), and Ousha Al Ahbabi, founder and CEO, OBM Academy. Together with the 60 women featured in this year's Women of Influence, their stories are a testament to the remarkable depth of female leadership across the MENA region today—and we hope you'll find them every bit as inspiring as we did.
