Sustainability awareness lectures at Barzan youth centre summer camp
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change’s Green Development and Environmental Sustainability Department participated in the Barzan Youth Centre Summer Camp by delivering a series of educational lectures and interactive workshops designed to enhance environmental awareness and promote sustainable practices among young people.
The programme covered a range of key topics, including environmental sustainability, the responsible use of natural resources, recycling, renewable energy, and the circular economy.
Participants were also introduced to Qatar’s flagship environmental initiatives and projects that support sustainable development and advance the country’s long-term environmental goals.
Through practical, hands-on activities, participants had the opportunity to apply environmentally responsible practices while developing a stronger appreciation of environmental stewardship.
The sessions encouraged active participation and aimed to instil sustainable habits that can be integrated into everyday life.
The ministry said its participation forms part of its broader efforts to promote environmental awareness across society, particularly among young people, through partnerships with youth centres and community institutions.
